چکیده

Expansive soil needs to undergo treatment be used as safe foundation for roads and buildings. From an environmental conservation economical point of view, the usage agricultural industrial wastes is best option. In this study, effects utilizing plastic waste marble dust on engineering properties expansive soils were examined. Various laboratory tests carried out sampled by adding 10, 15, 20% 0.25, 0.5, 0.75% 5 × 8 mm2 strips. The test results showed that there are good enhancements strength parameters due addition With increase in percentages strips, California Bearing Ratio (CBR) values rise. dust, unconfined compressive (UCS) linearly, while they only up 0.5% with As proportions strips increase, soil’s free swell CBR decreased significantly. This shows pollution can utilized strengthen weak subgrade minimize its swelling properties. Therefore, study found treated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) a material since it fulfills minimum requirement needed standards.

Behavior of Flexible Pavements on Expansive Soils

This investigation discusses the findings on analysis results of a pavement structure constructed on a relatively expansive material consisting mainly of brown clayey silt in Tebessa, Algeria. Cores were brought to the laboratory from a piece of roadwork. Remolded samples were taken from subgrade of a deteriorated road. The soils were generally found to be of medium plasticity and of a medium t...

a study of the volume change behavior of expansive soils stabilized with tape fibers

expansive soils undergo volumetric changes in response to changes in their moisture content that this characteristic causes irreparable problems particularly in civil projects. investigators have proposed chemical methods as well as mechanical treatments to stabilize the expansive soils. in this study, stabilization of expansive soil with randomly distributed fiber was investigated by reinforci...

Swelling pattern of polypropylene fiber reinforced expansive soils

Expansive soils are considered to be the one of the highly problematic soil. These soils undergo large volume change based on the amount of moisture content.. Because of this behaviour, lightly loaded civil engineering structures founded on the expansive soils gets severely damaged. There are several mitigating techniques available to counteract the problems posed by the expansive soils. In rec...

Elasto-plastic analysis of reinforced soils using mesh-free method

In this paper the application of the mesh-free method (MFM) for the elasto-plastic analysis of reinforced soils is studied for the first time. The applied mesh-free method is called the radial point interpolation method (RPIM). In MFM, unlike the finite element method (FEM), there is no need of mesh in the traditional sense, and the shape functions are based on nodes. In the present study the r...
